Israel/Gaza: Israeli Non-stop strikes Continues to Grind Gaza as US says ceasefire obstacles ‘not insurmountable’

Israeli strikes continue to pummel locations across the war-ravaged territory on Thursday. At least five people were killed when an Israeli bomb hit a mosque in Jabalia al-Balad neighbourhood in north Gaza.

Health officials said that 20 people have died from malnutrition and dehydration, including children and the elderly, as several countries, led by Cyprus, orchestrate aid supplies to arrive by sea to Gaza’s shore.

Meanwhile, fragile truce talks between Israel and Hamas and mediated by the US, Qatar and Egypt, are said to be holding, as hopes remain of a ceasefire before the start of Ramadan early next week.

US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller told reporters on Wednesday that “a deal can be reached”.

“We continue to believe that obstacles are not insurmountable, and a deal can be reached…so we’re going to continue to push for one”.

On the 153rd day of the war, the death toll from the war stands at 30,717 people and a further 72,156 injured in Gaza, according to the latest figures from the health ministry.
