EPL: Young and Talented Nigerian midfielder set to sign new improved contract with Tottenham

Nigerian midfielder Callum latif Olusesi will sign a new improved contract with Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in the coming days, allnigeriasoccer reports.

First year scholar Olusesi becomes eligible to sign his first professional contract at Tottenham Hotspur as from Monday, March 11 when he turns seventeen years.

As per Premier League rules, all players in their U17 year are required to start the 2023-2024 season on a scholarship agreement, before they are permitted to sign a first professional football contract on or after their 17th birthday.

Last summer, Olusesi signed scholarship forms with the Lilywhites and also agreed to a professional deal for when he turns 17 in March 2024.

It is believed that his new contract will keep him at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium until at least the end of the 2025-2026 season bearing in mind that players under the age of 18 may not sign a professional contract for a term longer than three years.

Tottenham Hotspur fended off interest from the likes of Manchester United and Newcastle United to tie him down to a new contract.

Olusesi is having an outstanding season at Tottenham, scoring nine goals in all competitions for their U18 team and it seems very likely that a competitive debut for the development squad is on the horizon.

He helped Tottenham Hotspur to win both the U17 and U18 Premier League Cup in the 2022-2023 season, featuring in the showpiece against Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa respectively.
